Church History
Skelton Free Will Baptist Church was founded by the Reverend Omer Williams in 1958. Reverend Williams served as pastor from 1958 to 1963. The first trustees were Earl Pennington, Royal Fernandez and Lewis Webb. The first board of deacons consisted of Roy Meadows, Charles Bass and Thomas Hickman.
On July 18, 1982, the Skelton Church building was totally remodeled. The outside and inside appearance completely changed from the initial church building design.
Today, Skelton Free Will Baptist Church is blessed with a choir, individual singers, and musicians. The Skelton Church ladies make up The Ladies Christian Fellowship group which meets once a month.
Skelton Free Will Baptist Church is a growing church with a vision to see the helpless helped, the depressed lifted up, and the lost saved. Skelton Church is a lighthouse for the community. You will always find a warm welcome when attending Skelton Church.
